3 months

at our last weigh in, talan weighed 13 pounds 5 ounces and was 23 inches long. he just recently moved up to eating 6 ounces at each meal time. and we've gone from every 3 hours to close to every 4 hours. he still usually sleeps great through the nite. he still has to be swaddled in order to fall asleep, so if he manages to get out of the blanket he ends up waking up crying. it's a quick fix, but it's still not fun getting out of bed at 3 in the morning. this morning he actually slept until almost 9am. of course i had to be up with the other one, but still. he laughed for the first time this month. dave tickled him on the collarbone and he let out the cutest little baby laugh. then the other nite i was trying to get him dressed and he just kept laughing when i'd try to take his shirt off. one of the best noises in the world i tell ya. he also seems to have found his voice even more than he had before. he'll just lay there and make these loud baby noises for minutes on end. we had to stop our movie like 3 times the other nite because it was so loud. cute, but loud. at least it wasn't screaming. we certainly aren't used to happy baby noises. but we're loving it. he rolled over again this month from his stomach to back again. not often, just occasionally when he feels the need i guess. he continues to be the happiest, most laid back baby there is. he only cries when he is hungry or overly tired. the rest of the time he's happy and smiling or just chilling and taking the world in. it appears that many times he is just waiting to catch somebody's eye so that he can smile and engage them. he appears to be far more serious at times than hayden ever was, but he still lets the smiles out often. his nails grow like crazy and i have to cut them almost every couple of days. dave insists it's due to his name. he's going to bed anywhere from 9:30-10:30, but usually more on the earlier end, and gets up (if not waking up from being out of the blanket) anywhere from 5-7. unless it's a really good day like today and he'll get up between 8-9. he'll eat, and usually go right back to bed for awhile longer. he sleeps pretty well during the day with a long afternoon nap, but he's awake most of the early evening before bedtime. hayden continues to love him, but also harass him. not in a mean way, but not the way babies want to be treated necessarily. talan usually just looks at him like "what in the world is this thing doing to me now?!"
we continue to eat up every moment with him knowing it could change quickly. but we sure are hoping that this is talan for life. happy 3 months talan! who knew you'd stay around in this crazy family for this long?!
